Robust Flavor was launched in the 1880’s as a result of spending many years marooned at a remote fishing shack deep in the South Atlantic. Upon returning to the American midwest and finding it hard to assimilate in the mundane aspects of everyday life, Gertrude and Cletus Robust set up The RF General Store and Sundries Company. The business specialized in consumer goods, food products and survival gear, essential to life in the harsh Northern Plains winter. The business went through many ups and downs and eventually the elder Robusts died from something or another.

Second generation kinfolk Larry Von Robust brought it back to life, renamed it Robust Flavor and, eventually it became THE place to get survival gear, sundries, doodads and all things fashionable. Robust Flavor became the talk-of-the-town and the favorite far-and-wide. This is the same tradition we strive to carry through to this day. Thanks to Larry’s efforts way-back-when we are delighted to be carrying on the next chapter of Robust Flavor.
