Interview With Skateboarder Anthony Williams

RF: Where did you grow up?
AW: I was born in Tampa FL, Moved to Fort Lauderdale were I lived for a good minute you know. Then I moved out to Atlanta with my cousin LJ. My mom had already been living there.
RF: When did you start skateboarding?
AW: I think I was like 13 or 14 the first time I set foot on a skateboard and well… I’m here now…
RF: What was your first set-up?
AW: It was a Variflex son!! Ha ha, I was hyped on it!
RF: What are your favorite skate videos of all time?
AW: I like mad videos. I can’t really choose… Logic 6 was my first video! Kenny Anderson, Paul Rodriguez, Mikey Taylor, and Justin Case were in it.
RF: What made you want to move to California? And how did you hook up get hooked up with A#?
AW: I was living in Atlanta, moving around a lot, and really struggling. I stopped skating a couple of times but my friends Sydney and Thurman Sewell took me in and helped me out. They told me to go skate in the Phoenix Am 07, so I bought a one-way ticket to Phoenix. From the contest, I got a ride out to California with Mirko Mangum to Encinitas. He let me stay at my house until I got things rolling. He hooked me up with A#. Much respect!
RF: Describe your typical day:
AW: I wake up and go skate. Then try and swing through UNIV shop to see some fam, then skate a couple skate parks at night. Basically just skate as much as possible.
RF: Who are your sponsors, and if you have any shout-outs, now’s the time?
AW: My sponsors are A#, UNIV, Mystery, Force, Fillmore, Ogio. I gotta shout out my family, and I mean that. I’ve had the chance to meet and make some cool friends in California and I consider them all family! S.T.C Holla!!..
