California Cool
June 26th, 2008 Posted in FeaturesMarineland of the Pacific was an aquarium and theme park located in Palos Verdes Calif. and in existence from 1954 through 1987. It was a bastion of mid-century modern architecture and all of the buildings were intact until just last year.
A regular stop for local visitors, people used to go there to fish, check out the buildings and to see Catalina Island, less than 20 miles away. The land’s been sold and it’s now been torn down to build a massive resort.
